August 30th Whitetail Photographs

Finally, a week where we caught all three big bucks. We were wondering what we would see after losing our last feeder and moving the feed spot from this location to a spot across the hollow. Fortunately, they moved with us.

The black bear has become a regular. He showed up at the middle feeder spot where we left some feed. This week he just stuck around and ate. For some reason he likes tipping it over. Maybe it's so he can lay down and eat. We put up another feeder in this spot using a new idea. We suspended the feeder between two trees about ten feet off the ground. We're watching this with two cameras, I think we could get some good pictures of the bear's reaction. I'm looking forward to next weeks pictures.

The apple trees still aren't giving us good pictures, although we did get a nice coyote picture.

We got one new buck this week, another small eight point. It's nice seeing another eight point, but we would like for him to have been a bit bigger. This buck showed up in the same spot as our other small eight point and they're hard to tell apart. We've probably seen this buck before and just didn't recognize the difference.

We went two for three this week getting quite a few black bear pictures and two more coyote pictures.

Our regular small eight point buck.

This ten point isn't as much of a regular as he was as an eight point buck last year.

One of only a few pictures of this ten point. He seems to be giving this new food location a good checking out.

The overbite buck didn't seem to have much trouble finding the new feed spot.

Here is the six point buck we'd seen in the past at the apple trees. He has a little buddy.

Here is the newcomer. It's real hard to tell him apart from the other young eight point.

Here is the big eight point before the black bear showed up to take over.
